The Maryland judicial elections of 2010 consisted of a Primary Election on September 14, 2010 and a General Election on November 2, 2010.
Overview
Court of Appeals
On the Maryland Court of Appeals judges are appointed to serve for 10-year terms by the Governor and consent of the senate. After a year of appointment, a judge must then run without opposition, and if retained, the judge will serve the 10-year term. In addition, judges must retire by the mandatory age of seventy years old. There were 2 judges up for retention election on the 2010 ballot.[1]
