Marylanders to pay more for alcohol
May 30, 2011
ANNAPOLIS, Maryland: Next month, Marylanders will find themselves digging a little deeper into their pockets when purchasing alcohol, due to a new bill signed into law last Thursday.[1]
Governor O'Malley signed a bill that raises the sales tax on alcohol from 6 to 9 percent, the first increase in over a generation. The move is expected to generate $85 million in extra revenue for the state.[1]
