The 9th Congressional District of Massachusetts held an election for the U.S. House of Representatives on November 8, 2016.
Heading into the election, Ballotpedia rated this race as safely Democratic. Incumbent William Keating (D) defeated Mark Alliegro (R), Paul Harrington (I), Anna Grace Raduc (I), and Chris Cataldo (I) in the general election on November 8, 2016. Alliegro defeated Tom O'Malley in the Republican primary, while Keating faced no challenger in the Democratic primary.[4][5][6]

Incumbent: Heading into the election the incumbent was William Keating (D), who was first elected in 2010 to represent Massachusetts' 10th Congressional District. He was re-elected to represent the 9th district in 2012 after redistricting.
Massachusetts' 9th Congressional District is located in the southeastern portion of the state and includes all of Barnstable, Dukes, and Nantucket counties along with portions of Bristol, and Plymouth counties.[9]
