A primary election is an election in which registered voters select a candidate that they believe should be a political party's candidate for elected office to run in the general election. They are also used to choose convention delegates and party leaders. Primaries are state-level and local-level elections that take place prior to a general election. Massachusetts utilizes a semi-closed primary system where voters who are affiliated with a political party and unaffiliated voters may vote in a party's primary.[1][2]
For information about which offices are nominated via primary election, see this article.
This is one of 56 open races for the U.S. House of Representatives this year in which an incumbent is not running for re-election. Across the country, 21 Democrats and 35 Republicans are not running for re-election. In 2024, 45 incumbents — 24 Democrats and 21 Republicans — did not seek re-election.

Submitted Biography: "I'm an educational animator and street artist from Salem, and I'm running on a platform of a Worker's Bill of Rights; a Right to Sanity, Stability, and Fair Pay. As an outspoken progressive activist, I've worked up and down the east coast the last 10 years on progressive causes, even interning at the Senate with Senator Sanders. I've worked to support causes like The Green New Deal, Medicare for All, Housing as a Human Right, LGBTQIA+ Rights, and Labor Rights for the Post Office and local workers. I'm tired of being tired. The more I look at where the Democratic party is going, the more I see the same taglines and phrases recycled for the last 10 plus years, and a stagnation of ideas to tackle the real problems facing us. I refuse to wait another decade for the party to slowly catch up to where the people are at now. I'm talking about common sense legislation, like making it illegal to be able to bully your workers. I'm talking about tying a company's success to their workforce, creating laws where CEOs can only make 10 times the amount of their lowest paid worker. I'm talking about creating government run grocery stores that are run similar to our military commissaries, where the goal of the store isn't to maximize profits but to instead keep families everywhere fed at affordable prices. When I first got into politics, I door knocked for Ayanna Pressley as a barista at Diesel Cafe. She would say"
