A No Public Funding of Abortion Amendment did not make the November 8, 2016 ballot in Massachusetts as an initiated constitutional amendment.

The measure would have required a statement be added to the Massachusetts Constitution that states that no provision of the constitution be interpreted to mean that abortions should be publicly funded.[1]

Text of the Measure

The full text of the measure reads:[1]

NO PROVISION OF THIS CONSTITUTION SHALL BE CONSTRUED AS REQUIRING THE PUBLIC FUNDING OF ABORTION.[2]
