Matchups set for six recalls in Wisconsin

MADISON, Wisconsin: With 100 percent of primary results in, ballots for the six Republican recalls in Wisconsin have been set. In less than a month voters across the state will go to the polls to determine if the governor, lieutenant governor and four state senators will be removed from their posts and replaced or allowed to finish out their terms. Here is an overview of the races set to take place on June 5.
Governor

Gov. Scott Walker (R) will face Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett in the recall. The two previously faced off in the 2010 race for governor, which Walker won with 52 percent of the vote. Barrett faced four other challengers for the Democratic nomination - former Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk, state Sen. Kathleen Vinehout, Secretary of State Doug La Follette and protest candidate Gladys Huber.

Lieutenant Governor
Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch (R) will face Mahlon Mitchell, President of the Professional Fire Fighters of Wisconsin, in the recall. Mitchell defeated protest candidate Isaac Weix and private investigator Ira Robins in the Democratic primary.

State Senator Scott Fitzgerald (R) will face recall organizer Lori Compas (D) and Terry Virgil (L) in the recall. Compas defeated protest candidate Gary Ellerman in the Democratic primary.

Senate District 21
State Senator Van Wanggaard (R) will face former State Sen. John Lehman (D) in the recall. Wanggaard defeated Lehman in 2010 to win his current seat. Lehman defeated protest candidate Tamra Varebrook in the Democratic primary.

Senate District 23
State Senator Terry Moulton (R) will face former state legislator Kristen Dexter (D) in the recall. Dexter served in the Assembly from 2009-2011. She defeated Moulton in 2008 to win the District 68 seat.[1]
Dexter defeated protest candidate James Engel in the Democratic primary.

Senate District 29
State Senator Pam Galloway (R) was successfully recalled but resigned her seat. Officials with the Wisconsin Government Accountability Board declared the recall must proceed. State Reps. Jerry Petrowski (R) and Donna Seidel (D) are vying for the seat.
Seidel defeated protest candidate James Buckley in the Democratic primary.
