Matt Beynon is a Republican campaign communications consultant. He was the communications director for Rick Santorum's 2016 presidential campaign.[1] Beynon, who had worked with Santorum since 2004, is the managing partner of Madison Strategic Ventures in Washington, D.C.[2]

Career

Beynon began his political career in 2004 as a legislative aide for Rick Santorum (R-Pa.) when Santorum served in the United States Senate. There, Beynon "focused on legislative matters such as the federal budget, energy independence, and financial services," according to his bio with Madison Strategic Ventures.[2] He then worked as Santorum's personal aide from 2007 to 2008 and as a consultant with Urish Popeck before joining Santorum's political team.[3]

In 2010, Beynon became an advisor to Santorum's PAC, America's Foundation.[2] When Santorum declared his candidacy for president in 2012, Beynon transitioned to the role of deputy communications director. He worked to "implement the campaign's overall media and policy strategy, serve as the primary point of contact for all media requests, and handle Senator Santorum's national media outreach," according to the press release announcing his hiring.[4]

On May 27, 2015, Santorum announced his presidential run in Butler, Pennsylvania.[5] Beynon, who served as a spokesperson for Santorum prior to the campaign, transitioned to the role of communications director.[1]

Santorum ended his presidential run on February 3, 2016.[6]
