Matt Castano

Matt Castano is a judge for the Sixth Circuit Court, which presides over Crook and Weston counties in Wyoming. He was appointed to the court by Governor Matt Mead on May 16, 2014.[1]
Castano won retention in a retention election on November 8, 2016.[2]
Biography
Castano received his undergraduate degree from the University of Delaware and his J.D. from the University of Wyoming College of Law.[1][3] Before his appointment to the court, Castano worked as an attorney in private practice. He also previously served as an circuit court magistrate for Albany County, as an alternate municipal court judge, and as a presiding judge for the Albany County Adult Court Supervised Treatment Program.[1]

Wyoming held retention elections for local judicial offices on November 8, 2016. Judges up for election in 2016 had to file for retention races by May 27, 2016. Matt Castano was retained in the Wyoming Sixth Circuit Court (Castano Seat) election with 74.76 percent of the vote. [2]
