Campaign website

Gunderson's campaign website stated the following:

Ending Career Politics

As a businessman and political outsider, Matt Gunderson is committed to bringing real change to Washington. He supports term limits to bring fresh perspectives to Congress from both parties.

Strengthening the Economy

Matt Gunderson is a successful Southern California businessman who started three auto dealerships from scratch, creating over 200 good-paying local jobs. He knows what it takes to strengthen the economy and increase wages, and he will bring that knowledge to Washington, D.C., to help all Americans prosper.

Combating the High Cost of Living

The cost of living in California is out of control, and Matt Gunderson has a plan to tackle this crisis head-on. He will work to end inflation, increase affordability, and lower the costs of housing, gas, and groceries, making life more affordable for all Californians.

Lowering Taxes

Matt Gunderson knows California’s taxes are crushing families. He is determined to repeal the gas tax hike, stop the proposed mileage tax, and protect Proposition 13, which keeps property taxes in check for homeowners.

Securing the Border

Matt Gunderson will secure the border. Southern Californians are dying from drugs like fentanyl which flood into our country through our porous border every day. An open border has caused an increase in crime, drugs, human trafficking, and poses a serious threat to our national security. Matt Gunderson will make securing the border a top priority on day one in office.

Safeguarding Social Security and Medicare

Matt Gunderson believes that America must keep its promise to our seniors. That’s why he is committed to protecting Social Security and Medicare, ensuring that our elderly citizens receive the benefits they have earned and depend on.

Supporting Our Veterans

With a wealth of business experience and leadership skills, Matt Gunderson will take on the challenge of reforming the dysfunctional Department of Veterans Affairs. The current system is broken and failing our veterans, leading to a surge in veteran homelessness. Matt Gunderson will fight to give veterans the support and respect they have earned, ensuring they receive the care they deserve.

Addressing the Homelessness Crisis

Matt Gunderson has a comprehensive plan to address the homelessness crisis in California. He believes that those struggling with homelessness must receive the treatment they need to get off the streets. Matt Gunderson will work to ban tent cities and camping on sidewalks, ensuring that public spaces remain safe and clean for everyone.

Protecting Reproductive Rights

Matt Gunderson believes that abortion should be safe, legal, and rare. He will oppose any federal restrictions on abortion and fight to protect fertility treatments like IVF, ensuring that women have control over their reproductive health.

Fighting Crime

With crime on the rise, Matt Gunderson has a detailed plan to support law enforcement, fight crime, and ensure that criminals are held accountable. He will work tirelessly to make our communities are safer for everyone.

Preserving Fairness in Youth Sports

As the father of four daughters who have all played youth sports in Southern California, Matt Gunderson is committed to preserving fairness in youth athletics. He would prohibit biological boys who identify as trans girls from competing in youth girls’ sports, ensuring that girls can compete fairly and safely.[2]
