Matt Hudson
Matt Hudson is a former Republican member of the Florida House of Representatives, representing District 80 from 2006 to 2016. He served as speaker pro tempore.
Hudson did not seek re-election to the Florida House of Representatives in 2016 because he was term-limited. Instead, Hudson was a 2016 Republican candidate for District 28 of the Florida State Senate. He was defeated in the Republican primary by Kathleen Passidomo.
Biography
Hudson's professional experience includes working as an umpire with the Collier Sports Arbiter Association, a broker with VIP Realty Group, and an instructor at the Naples School of Real Estate.[1]

2014
Elections for the Florida House of Representatives took place in 2014. A primary election took place on August 26, 2014. The general election was held on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was June 20, 2014. Incumbent Matt Hudson was unopposed in the Republican primary and was unchallenged in the general election.[7][8]

Hudson won election in the 2012 election for Florida House of Representatives District 80. Hudson ran unopposed in the Republican primary on August 14, 2012, and defeated Pam J. Brown (I) in the general election, which took place on November 6, 2012.[9]

2010
Hudson ran for re-election to the 101st District seat in 2010. He did not have any opposition in the August 24 primary. Hudson defeated Larry Wilcoxson (NPA) in the general election on November 2, 2010.[10]

2008
On November 4, 2008, Hudson won re-election to the Florida House of Representatives from Florida's 101st District, defeating Maria Jimenez (D). Hudson received 36,113 votes in the election while Jimenez received 32,191 votes.[11] Hudson raised $187,334 for his campaign; Jimenez raised $43,307.[12]
