|- Economic Hardships. We are all faced with high costs from the grocery store to the gas pump. To combat that financial pressure we all are feeling, I am committed to lowering the state income tax and reducing daily costs to put money back in your pocket. We must also ensure that the tax dollars the state does collect are being spent responsibly. This year spending in the Commonwealth has gone risen to 47.6 BILLION dollars (up 2.7 BILLION from last year).
- Safe Communities. The Fraternal Order of Police have endorsed me because of my commitment to safe communities. I believe supporting first responders with the funds they need to do their jobs is key, but we also need to prioritize victims overs criminals. Enforcing the laws and strong penalties for offenders of violent crimes will ensure residents in our communities not only feel safe, but know that they are safe.
- Top Notch Education. As a public school teacher, I understand first hand how education impacts our students and our community. Schools need money to run, but continuing to throw money into schools without first fixing the ways and means by which students are educated, won't fix the problems that some of our districts are facing. Most importantly, all students don't learn the same way or benefit from the same type of education. Parents know best, and we must provide school choice options so that every student has the best environment to receive the best education.

|As a teacher in Pittsburgh Public Schools for almost 20 years, Matt has taught primarily on Pittsburgh’s North Side. Matt met his wife Danielle, who is also a Pittsburgh Public Schools teacher, at a teacher training nearly 16 years ago.
When Matt isn’t teaching, he enjoys spending time with his family. Whether it’s skiing with his boys in the winter, frequenting local events and parks in the spring and summer, attending his boys' football games in the fall, or a date night with his wife--Matt has a deep commitment to his family. He has also been a vocal advocate in his community for neighbors and residents. Matt has supported many community and youth programs with financial contributions, but more importantly, with his time!
Matt’s career as an educator has afforded him the opportunity to be a leader, a coach, a mentor, and an effective communicator to students, parents, district staff, and community leaders. These skillsets highlight Matt’s abilities and qualification to serve as your State Representative.- Fiscal Responsibility - Ending out-of-control spending and inflation because taxpayers deserve to have their money spent responsibly
- Economic Growth - Lower tax rates with fewer regulations for small businesses to help build a stronger local economy
- Education - Education that works for all students and funding that works for all Pennsylvanians
As a family member of a small business owner, I understand the challenges it takes to run a small business. Supporting small businesses with lower tax rates, less government interference, fewer regulations builds a stronger local community and family sustaining jobs.
