Lapin won re-election for the Department 8 judge of the King County Superior Court in Washington outright in the primary on August 6, 2024, after the primary and general election were canceled.

He was appointed to the court on April 11, 2022, by Gov. Jay Inslee (D) to replace John Ruhl.[1]
