Matt Malone (Massachusetts)
Matt Malone was the secretary of education in Massachusetts. He was sworn in by Governor Deval Patrick (D) on January 14, 2013, and served until 2015 when Governor Charlie Baker took office.[1][2]
Biography
Malone began his career in education as a paraprofessional and substitute teacher in the Boston public schools in 1993. He served as a headmaster in Boston and as a special assistant to the superintendent in San Diego, Calif. For four years, Malone was superintendent of schools in Swampscott and was superintendent of the Brockton Public Schools from 2009 to 2013. In October 2015, after his term as secretary of education ended, Malone was offered the position of interim superintendent of the Saugus Public Schools.[1][2]
