Matt Platkin (Democratic Party) is the Attorney General of New Jersey. He assumed office on September 29, 2022. His current term ends on January 20, 2026.

Platkin was nominated by Gov. Phil Murphy (D) on February 3, 2022. He assumed office on February 14, 2022 as the acting attorney general.[1] On September 29, 2022, the New Jersey Senate confirmed Platkin as attorney general.[2]

Biography

Matt Platkin graduated from Madison High School. Platkin earned a B.A. and J.D. from Stanford University. His career experience includes working as chief counsel to Governor Phil Murphy, a partner with Lowenstein Sandler, and a policy advisor with the Brookings Institution.[3]
