Matt Scanlan is the former Subdistrict 6 member of the Omaha Board of Education in Nebraska. He ran unopposed and won re-election by default in the general election on November 4, 2014. Scanlan was first elected to the board in May 2013.[1] While the seat is nonpartisan, Scanlan is a Republican.[2] Scanlan did not seek re-election in 2018.

Scanlan graduated from Omaha Central High School in 1992 and the United States Naval Academy, going on to serve as a naval flight officer. In 2006, he moved back to Omaha to work for the family business, Woerner Wire Works, which is a steel fabricator.[3]

The election in Omaha featured four seats up for general election on November 4, 2014. There was no primary election. Subdistrict 2 incumbent Marque A. Snow, Subdistrict 4 incumbent Justin T. Wayne and Subdistrict 6 incumbent Matt Scanlan ran unopposed. Subdistrict 8 incumbent Lacey Merica faced challenger Marilyn Rickley.
