Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

I'm just a regular blue-collar worker, born and raised in Mint Hill, NC. I enjoy spending time with my family, including my 2 dogs, working out in the yard and in my wood shop, and hanging out with my neighbors. My biggest passion is working on my Christmas light display, listed in the top 5 displays in the greater Charlotte area.

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?

• I want to ensure that the town's money is spent responsibly and is used to benefit non-profit businesses and organizations that directly support the residents of Mint Hill.
• I am wanting to help ensure that local infrastructure is well maintained for the safety and comfort of our community.
• I want the town to support the mental health of the employees of the town, especially the Police and Fire Departments.

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

Traffic safety, mental health awareness, and sustainable development.

What qualities does this office possess that makes it a unique and important part of the state government and legal system?

This is the most local form of government, so it touches people directly.

Who do you look up to? Whose example would you like to follow, and why?

My Dad. He was a Marine Corp veteran who cared about his country, he was a family man who enjoyed meeting people, and he was unshakable in his principles.

Is there a book, essay, film, or something else you would recommend to someone who wants to understand your political philosophy?

What characteristics or principles are most important for an elected official?

Authenticity, honesty, and integrity.

What qualities do you possess that you believe would make you a successful officeholder?

I am fearlessly authentic and honest.

What do you believe are the core responsibilities for someone elected to this office?

Standing up for our town-protect what makes it livable today while planning for a future that welcomes new neighbors responsibly.

What legacy would you like to leave?

I would love to leave a better world for my son.

What is the first historical event that happened in your lifetime that you remember? How old were you at the time?

Hurricane Hugo when I was 5 years old. I remember the trees falling, and the town burning the brush.

What was your very first job? How long did you have it?

My first job was the Food Lion here in Mint Hill, and I worked there for 10 years before I became a full time brick mason.

What is your favorite book? Why?

Drop the F-Bomb in Your Business with the Fun First Strategy by Pete Kusiak. It talks about making your business fun and bringing fun into the workplace.

If you could be any fictional character, who would you want to be?

Deadpool.

What was the last song that got stuck in your head?

I2I from a Goofy Movie, as I work on programming lights for this year's Christmas light display.

What is something that has been a struggle in your life?

Losing my parents, 13 months apart was a struggle. They both passed shortly after the COVID pandemic, so the last bit of time I had with them was spent with masks or talking through windows. It has been a struggle, however I want to honor their memories by making a mark in our town.

Are there any little-known powers or responsibilities held by this office that you believe more people should be aware of?

No, however I feel people should be aware of the limits of power and responsibilities that this office holds, there are many things this office does not have the power to do.

Do you believe that it's beneficial for holders of this office to have previous experience in government or politics?

No, this is the most local level of government, and should be represented by regular people.

What kind of skills or expertise do you believe would be the most helpful for the holders of this office to possess?

Patience, thick skin, and compassion.

What qualities does this office possess that makes it a unique and important part of the local government?

This office is the local people's voice.

What are your views on financial transparency and government accountability?

It's the people's money, finances should be transparent and residents should be able to see where every dollar goes.
