Matt Jeffrey Whitworth was a federal magistrate judge for the United States District Court for the Western District of Missouri. He was appointed to this position on January 15, 2010, to succeed Judge William A. Knox.[1][2] Whitworth's service ended when he died on October 8, 2019.[3]

Education

Judge Whitworth received his undergraduate degree from Baker University in 1980 and his law degree from the University Of Arkansas School Of Law in 1983.[2]

Career

Judge Whitworth worked as a federal prosecutor for the Kansas City U.S. Attorney's office from 1988 until his judicial appointment. In this office, he attained the positions of First Assistant U.S. Attorney and Chief of the Criminal Division. At the time of the appointment, he was also working as an Acting United States Attorney for the Western District of Missouri.[2]
