Campaign themes

2013

Fitch’s website highlighted the following campaign themes:[3]

  • Education

Excerpt: "From pre-school to college, our schools need to be properly funded, and teachers properly compensated. An Idea that should be looked at is School Vouchers. This enables parents to decide which school in their locality their children will attend."

  • Taxes

Excerpt: "There are certain things only the government can provide, such as roads, police, etc. We must make sure these obligations are properly funded. The state should tax its citizens only what is needed to perform these vital functions, being very careful not to take from families more than is absolutely necessary."

  • Term Limits

Excerpt: "There is no one person that should hold a seat of power for more than a certain amount of time. It leads to a variety of problems. I do not believe there is anyone in public office that is so valuable or intelligent that they should remain in office for decades."

  • Second Amendment

Excerpt: "I am a strong supporter of all amendments, including the second. I do believe we need to close the gun show loophole. All gun purchasers should have a background check."

  • 10th amendment

Excerpt: "More attention needs to be paid to this amendment."
