Matthew Illich
Matthew Illich was a candidate for the Region 3 seat on the West Chester Area Board of Directors in Pennsylvania. The seat was up for general election on November 3, 2015. There was a primary election on May 19, 2015. He filed to run in both the Democratic and Republican primaries. He lost in both primary races to Gary Bevilacqua and did not advance to the general election.[1][2]
Biography
Illich obtained his bachelor's degree in criminal justice from West Chester University. He went on the earn his master's degree in criminal justice from St. Joseph's University. He worked in law enforcement until his retirement in 2010. He now operates his own consulting firm, Northeastern Group Consulting. As a consultant he conducts training sessions and helps organizations implement policies regarding domestic and workplace violence. He is also an adjunct professor at Widener University.[3]

Five of the nine seats on the West Chester Area Board of Directors were up for general election on November 3, 2015. There was a primary election on May 19, 2015.
Incumbent Sue Tiernan (D) and challenger Kate Shaw (D) defeated Republican challengers Debra Maccariella and Vince Paul for two seats in Region 1. Republican candidates Karen Herrmann and Christopher Tabakin defeated Democratic candidates Samantha Bloom and Matthew Morley in Region 2. Gary Bevilacqua (D/R) defeated Matthew Illich in both the Democratic and Republican primaries, and won the Region 3 seat without opposition in the general election.[1][2]
