Matthew Lawrence

Matthew Lawrence was the Precinct 5 representative on the Tooele County School Board in Utah. He defeated fellow challenger Teresa McNeill in the general election on November 4, 2014. Incumbent Karen Nelson did not file for re-election.
Lawrence announced his resignation on April 7, 2016. The board chose Nelson to serve the remainder of Lawrence's term.[1][2]

The November 4, 2014, general election in the Tooele County School District featured three seats up for election. In the Precinct 5 race, challengers Teresa McNeill and Matthew Lawrence faced off since incumbent Karen Nelson did not file for re-election. Lawrence won the open seat. In the Precinct 6 and 7 races, incumbents Carol Jensen and Alan Mouritsen were re-elected without opposition.
