Campaign themes

2014

Lenzini's campaign website highlighted the following issues:[1]

The Economy

  • Excerpt: "Our effective tax rates on business are too high. Our gross receipts tax, ensures that any production that occurs in the state is taxed any time it exchanges hands. This is bad for business. We need to change it. Lots of companies are incorporated in Delaware and that is ok but what we really need is to get those companies to want to do work in the First State. We are ideally situated between the two epicenters of our country for business and policy (New York and the District of Columbia). We need to become more than just a place to drive through, we need to be a place where business can setup shop and thrive."

Education

  • Excerpt: "We need to work on getting more money into the class room and modify our schools to allow each student to be educated in a way that best aligns with his or her learning style. More testing is not the answer, adaptability is. Education can open doors but it has to be effective - our current system is anything but that."

Public Safety

  • Excerpt: "Let's focus our limited resources on where it matters most, crimes that are violent or infringe upon the rights of the innocent. Let's address theft, robbery and threatening behaviors instead of the teenage kid innocently riding his skateboard down the street."

Encourage Personal Freedoms, Rights and Opportunity

  • Excerpt: "The government should not be ingrained in the everyday activities of citizens. We need to get out of the way and let people live their lives. We need to get back to a place where hard work is rewarded and personal liberties are encouraged. I believe in the power of the individual and if we can encourage self-reliance and personal freedom, we can re-establish the American Dream...one district at a time."
