A vote to recall Hamburg Township clerk Matthew Skiba took place on November 3, 2009 for voters in Hamburg Township, Michigan.

On November 3rd, the attempt to recall Skiba was approved.[1]

  • Yes: 4,227 (79.29%)Approveda
  • No: 1,104 (20.71%)

In light of election results city council members appointed an interim city clerk until February 2010's elections.[2] The recall effort began after accusations were made that Skiba violated the state's Open Meetings Act and Freedom of Information Act. Both the county and state are conducting an investigation.[3]
