Maureen "Mo" Muir
Maureen Muir (also known as Mo) was a member of the San Dieguito Union High School District school board in California, representing Trustee Area 1. She assumed office in 2018. She left office on December 9, 2022.
Muir ran for re-election to the San Dieguito Union High School District school board to represent Trustee Area 1 in California. She won in the general election on November 6, 2018.
Muir (Republican Party) also ran for election to the California State Assembly to represent District 76. She lost in the primary on June 5, 2018.
She was previously an at-large member on the board from 2014 to 2018.
Biography
A resident of Encinitas, California, Muir began serving on the Encinitas Union School District board of trustees in 2008 and was appointed to serve as the board's clerk. She is also the board liaison to the North County Consortium for Special Needs (NCCSE). In addition to serving those boards, Muir has volunteered as a Math 24 facilitator, as vice president of the Parent Teacher Association, as a member of Kiwanis and the Encinitas Friends of the Library Board, and as a grant writer.[1]
Muir has been given special recognition certificates from Congressman Brian Bilbray (R) and Assemblyman Martin Garrick (R). The New Encinitas Business Network also named her Educator of the Year in 2010. Muir and her husband have one son.[1]

The election in San Dieguito Union High featured three seats up for general election on November 4, 2014. There was no primary election.
Three at-large incumbents, Barbara Groth, Amy Herman and John Salazar, were up for re-election. Herman, Salazar and challenger Maureen "Mo" Muir won election to the three seats by defeating Groth, Rimga Viskanta, Simeon Greenstein and Steve McDowell.
