The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was June 3, 2014. Incumbent Takashi Ohno was unopposed in the Democratic primary, while Max R. Fowler was unopposed in the Republican primary. Ohno defeated Fowler in the general election.[2][3][4]
