Voters in Blythe and four special districts within Contra Costa, Mendocino, Plumas, Riverside, and Sonoma counties voted on five different local ballot measures: one sales tax measure and four parcel tax measures.

Contra Costa County

Contra Costa County Service Area No. P-2 Zone A (Blackhawk), California, Measure Z, Police Service Parcel Tax (May 2020):  ✔

A "yes" vote supported authorizing the district to increase its annual parcel tax to $395 per residential unit, $2,370 per parcel for property designated as commercial/industrial/institutional property, and $11,852 per parcel for property designated as commercial/theater and allowing for 3% annual increases, with tax revenue dedicated to police services.

A "no" vote opposed authorizing the district to increase its annual parcel tax to $395 per residential unit, $2,370 per parcel for property designated as commercial/industrial/institutional property, and $11,852 per parcel for property designated as commercial/theater and allowing 3% annual increases.


Mendocino County

Coast Life Support District, California, Measure J, Parcel Tax (May 2020):  ✔

A "yes" vote supported authorizing the district to increase its annual parcel tax to $61 per unit of benefit (ranging from $61 to $1,220 per year depending on the property type), thereby generating an estimated $1.18 million per year in revenue to fund emergency medical services.

A "no" vote opposed authorizing the district to increase its annual parcel tax to $61 per unit of benefit (ranging from $61 to $1,220 per year depending on the property type), thereby leaving the existing rate of $44 per unit of benefit (ranging from $44 to $880 per year depending on property type.


Plumas County

Hamilton Branch Fire Protection District, California, Measure A, Parcel Tax (May 2020):  ✖

A "yes" vote supported authorizing the district to increase its annual parcel tax by $175 per parcel by replacing the existing rate of $108 per parcel with a rate of $283 per parcel in order to fund fire protection and emergency medical services and increasing the district's spending limit by the amount of the increased revenue.

A "no" vote opposed authorizing the district to increase its annual parcel tax by $175 per parcel to a rate of $283 per parcel in order to fund fire protection and emergency medical services, thereby leaving in place the existing rate of $108 per parcel.


Riverside County

Blythe, California, Measure K, Sales Tax (May 2020):  ✔

A "yes" vote supported authorizing the city to levy an additional 1% sales tax, thereby increasing the total sales tax rate in the city from 7.75% to 8.75% and generating an estimated $1.144 million per year in general fund revenue.

A "no" vote opposed authorizing the city to levy an additional 1% sales tax, thereby leaving the total sales tax rate in the city at 7.75%.


Sonoma County

A "yes" vote supported authorizing the district to increase its annual parcel tax to $61 per unit of benefit (ranging from $61 to $1,220 per year depending on the property type), thereby generating an estimated $1.18 million per year in revenue to fund emergency medical services.

A "no" vote opposed authorizing the district to increase its annual parcel tax to $61 per unit of benefit (ranging from $61 to $1,220 per year depending on the property type), thereby leaving the existing rate of $44 per unit of benefit (ranging from $44 to $880 per year depending on property type.

Northern Sonoma County Fire Protection District, California, Measure K, Parcel Tax (May 2020):  ✖

A "yes" vote supported authorizing the district to increase its annual parcel tax rate to between $160 and $240 for residential parcel depending on size and to $0.11 per sq. ft. for non-residential buildings, $54 per building for agricultural structures, and $170 for every vacant parcel or parcel above 20 acres for fire services; allow for inflation adjustments; and increase the districts spending limit by the amount of the tax revenue (an estimated $650,000 per year).

A "no" vote opposed authorizing the district to increase its annual parcel tax rate to between $160 and $240 for residential parcel depending on size and to $0.11 per sq. ft. for non-residential buildings, $54 per building for agricultural structures, and $170 for every vacant parcel or parcel above 20 acres for fire services.
