May 7, 2019 ballot measures in California

Twelve local measures were on ballots in 10 California counties on May 7, 2019. District voters in Calaveras, Contra Costa, Lake, Placer, Plumas, San Joaquin, and Santa Clara counties decided on parcel tax measures. Inverness Public Utility District voters in Marin County decided on an increase to the appropriations limit. Voters in San Diego County decided on a development initiative, and voters in San Mateo County decided on the transfer of property in the La Honda Road Territory.

Calaveras

Measure A: Ebbetts Pass Fire Protection District Parcel Tax Approveda

A yes vote was a vote in favor of authorizing the district to levy a parcel tax—a kind of property tax based on units of property rather than assessed value—to fund Paramedic Engine and Station 3 Ambulance programs at the following rates:
  • $43 per unimproved property with a $2.42 annual increase for the first ten years; and
  • $134 per improved property with a $6.28 annual increase for the first ten years.
A no vote was a vote against authorizing the district to levy a parcel tax to fund Paramedic Engine and Station 3 Ambulance programs.

Measure B: Appaloosa Road Community Services District Parcel Tax Increase Approveda

A yes vote was a vote in favor of increasing the district's parcel tax—a kind of property tax based on units of property rather than assessed value—from $75 per year to $175 per year for taxable parcels in the Appaloosa Zone in order to fund road improvements and to adjust for inflation.
A no vote was a vote against increasing the district's parcel tax from $75 per year to $175 per year for taxable parcels in the Appaloosa Zone.

Contra Costa

Measure C: Contra Costa County Service Area P-5 Police Services Parcel Tax Approveda

A yes vote was a vote in favor of authorizing the county to increase the Service Area P-5 parcel tax—a kind of property tax based on units of property rather than assessed value—by $140 per parcel, with funds dedicated to police salary, benefits, equipment, and other expenses.
A no vote was a vote against increasing the service area parcel tax by $140 per parcel to fund police.

A yes vote was a vote in favor of authorizing the district to levy a parcel tax—a kind of property tax based on units of property rather than assessed value—at an annual rate of $6.14 per benefit unit to fund fire station staffing and equipment updates.
A no vote was a vote against authorizing the district to levy a parcel tax at an annual rate of $6.14 per benefit unit to fund fire station staffing and equipment updates.

Measure N: Waterloo Morada Rural County Fire Protection District Parcel Tax Approveda

A yes vote was a vote in favor of authorizing the district to levy a parcel tax—a kind of property tax based on units of property rather than assessed value—for nine years to fund emergency response services, reopening a second fire station, and replacing outdated equipment at the following annual rates:
  • $0.07 per square foot for residential units;
  • $0.10 per square foot for commercial buildings;
  • $12 per parcel for vacant and agricultural; and
  • other rates for other land uses.
A no vote was a vote against authorizing the district to levy a parcel tax to fund emergency response services, reopening a second fire station, and replacing outdated equipment.
