I am a business leader, community organizer, and a mother who has raised my family in the Richmond area for over two decades. My determination and work ethic were deeply influenced by my humble beginnings, starting at a very young age when I helped run our family-owned small business after school and on weekends. I was able to put myself through college and forge a nearly 30-year corporate career. Because of my track record of leadership, Governor Terry McAuliffe appointed me to the Virginia Asian Advisory Board, where I served in executive leadership for nearly four years. I am running for the House of Delegates to build a stronger economy, fully fund our public schools, keep our communities safe, and defend our fundamental rights. I believe my multi sector experience uniquely positions me to effectuate positive change in our communities.
  • We need an economy that works for everyone. I am committed to creating an economy where everyone can thrive by supporting good-paying jobs, raising wages, cutting red tape for small businesses, and providing tax relief for families. I will also work to lower the cost of living—making housing, healthcare, and everyday necessities more affordable—and invest in career and technical education to prepare workers for the jobs of tomorrow.
  • I'm committed to strengthening our public education system and fully funding our public schools. As a product of public schools myself and a parent of three children who graduated from Virginia public schools, I've seen firsthand the power that good schools and teachers have to shape students' lives for the better. Every child, no matter their zip code or skin color, should have the opportunity to graduate from a top notch school with modern technology, and sufficient teachers and support staff, including career counselors, mental health professionals and subject area specialists. I'll also work to increase teacher pay and address teacher shortages in the Commonwealth.
  • As a mother of two daughters, I am committed to defending a woman’s right to make personal healthcare decisions, including access to abortion, contraception, and IVF. I will also ensure that healthcare providers can offer these critical services without fear. My opponent, Delegate David Owen, supports banning abortion in Virginia and stripping women of their bodily autonomy. Unlike my opponent, Delegate Owen, I believe these decisions belong to women – not politicians.
Having watched my parents struggle to access healthcare, I understand how critical it is to have access to quality care. Healthcare should be a right, not a privilege. I am committed to lowering healthcare costs, improving quality, and ensuring accessibility for everyone. Over 600,000 Virginians have gained coverage through Medicaid expansion, and as your Delegate, I will fight to protect these families from losing healthcare if this progress is reversed. No one should face financial hardship to get the care they need.
Elected officials need to be good listeners. The best part of being a candidate is meeting voters and hearing firsthand about the issues that matter most to them. As your next Delegate, I'll go to work every day to fight for you and deliver for our district.
My determination and work ethic were deeply influenced by my humble beginnings, starting at a very young age when I helped run our family-owned small Chinese takeout business after school and on weekends. Starting from the age of 12 when we lived in New York, I’d hop on the subway, take the city bus, or walk after school and on the weekends to our restaurant to help my family make ends meet.
