An effort in Toledo, Oregon, to recall Mayor Billie Jo Smith, Councilor Terri Strom, and Councilor Deanne Dunlap was initiated in 2018. Petitioners submitted enough signatures to put the recall on the ballot on September 11, 2018.[1]

The recall election was held on September 11, 2018. Voters approved removing all three members from office.[2]

Recall supporters
Recall organizers accused the officials of questionable personnel practices, fiscal irresponsibility, and failing to recognize errors in the city's budget. The recall effort was initiated after the firing of the city fire chief.[2]
