The city of New Orleans, Louisiana, is holding a primary election for mayor on October 11, 2025. A general election is scheduled for November 15, 2025. The filing deadline for this election was July 11, 2025.
As of 2025, New Orleans has term limits for the position of mayor. Mayors can serve two consecutive four-year terms and can run again after a four year break.

Louisiana elections use the majority-vote system. All candidates compete in the same primary, and a candidate can win the election outright by receiving more than 50 percent of the vote.
