McGee v. Dunlap
McGee v. Dunlap is a lawsuit filed in Maine in 2006 by plaintiff Kathleen McGee against Matthew Dunlap in his official capacity as Maine Secretary of State. The case concerned the initiative petition, Maine Taxpayer Bill of Rights (2006). Plaintiff McGee desired Dunlap to strike the initiative from the ballot; her reasoning was that Dunlap had counted signatures toward qualifying the initiative that he should not have counted. On April 3, 2006, Donald Marden, a justice of the Superior Court of Maine, agreed with McGee and ordered Dunlap not to put the initiative on the November 2006 ballot.
