MeLinda Hawkins-Taylor is a judge of the New Jersey Vicinage 5 Superior Court. She assumed office in 2022. Her current term ends in 2029.

Biography

Hawkins-Taylor received her bachelor's degree from Howard University and her J.D. from the Rutgers University School of Law. She has served as Deputy Attorney General with the New Jersey Division on Civil Rights, as Deputy Attorney General with the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities, and as Essex County Assistant Prosecutor. Prior to her appointment, she served as the Municipal Court Judge for the City of East Orange. She is also the principal at the Law Offices of MeLinda H. Taylor, Esq..[2]
