This measure sought to add to the current street levy which by a rate of $.30 per $100 of assessed property value for a further three years in order to continue to pay for construction and repair costs of streets, roads and bridges in the village.[2]

The question on the ballot:
An additional tax for the benefit of the Village of Mechanicsburg for the purpose of GENERAL CONSTRUCTION, RECONSTRUCTION, RESURFACING AND REPAIR OF STREETS, ROADS AND BRIDGES at a rate not exceeding three (3) mills for each one dollar of valuation, which amounts to $0.30 for each one hundred dollars of valuation, for three (3) years, commencing in 2012, first due in calendar year 2013.[3] |
