My name is Megan Roach, and I am a candidate for Pinellas County Court Judge, Group 1. I was born and raised here in Pinellas County. I attended St. Petersburg Catholic High School, the University of Florida, and Stetson Law School. I live in Gulfport with my husband, Lucas, and our two dogs. I am currently a Partner at a civil firm in St. Petersburg where I practice in the field of property insurance. Prior to practicing insurance law, I did foreclosure lay throughout Florida. I managed a large caseload and was in court all over the state on an almost daily basis.
  • I have deep roots in this community and have been deeply involved in our community over the last decade. I have served as the President of the Junior League of St. Petersburg, the President of the Patrick Brett Foundation, on the Board of Directors of the Guardian ad Litem Foundation (n/k/a Hero to a Child), on the Mainsail Art Festival Committee, on the Drug Free America Foundation Gala Committee, and more. I am also an active member of the St. Petersburg Bar Association, where I previously served as Chair of the Civil Trial Section. I am ready now to serve this community as a County Court Judge. I am committed to continuing my record of community service and giving back to this community that has given me so much.
  • As a judge, my commitment will be to follow the law as it is written and apply it equally to all those who appear before me, while ensuring that everyone in my courtroom has a fair opportunity to be heard.
  • I have had the unique opportunity to practice law in almost every county in Florida. I have been able to see how other counties and judges run their courtrooms and dockets and figure out what strategies are the most efficient for the fair and timely administration of justice. I will use that experience to serve the residents of Pinellas if elected.
It is imperative for members of our judiciary to not engage in politics or policy making. A judge should interpret the law as it is written, regardless of his or her personal feelings or opinions on the law. Upholding this vital separation of powers is vital to our free and fair system of justice.
My first job was working at the Seaside Grill (now Paradise Grill) in Pass-A-Grille Beach. I applied just before my 15th birthday and starting working as soon as I turned 15. I worked there all through high school and for several summers home from college.
