After raising a family, I am a returning student and believe in Collin College's mission. I want to help lead the college into the future with fiscal responsibility, freedom in education, and a focus on the faculty and student experience. A thriving community college district is essential for Collin County to continue to be an area that attracts growth. To thrive, Collin College must attract and retain both students and faculty. I hope to develop stronger community partnerships to achieve this goal.

I'm extremely passionate about using the resources we have as the wealthiest county in Texas to elevate all of our residents' quality of life.
We need active board members who have a vested interest in the long-term success of Collin College. In short, elected officials need to truly care about their positions and be passionate about their missions.
More than anything, I hope that people always feel loved after meeting me. Like Maya Angelou said, “I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”
My very first job was as a basketball official for youth basketball. I started officiating at 14 years old and continued for ten years! I officiated at both the high school and college level eventually.
Walk the World's Rim by BettyLou Baker, A Wrinkle in Time by Madeline L'Engle, The Catcher in the Rye by JD Salinger. I like books that make me feel something!
The first and best way to support the needs of students, faculty, staff, and community is to both provide opportunities for feedback from those stakeholders and to listen to the feedback. Fostering a culture of transparent leadership and accountability is imperative to truly serve students, faculty, staff, and the greater Collin County community.
We need to strengthen our corporate relationships in the form of greater internship opportunities. We also need to have a greater presence in our secondary schools across the county. Another area where we can partner with the community is in the non-profit sector. Our county is blessed with an abundance of service-minded organizations that could play important roles if we can implement strong partnerships with them.
Recently, the federal government passed legislation that makes significant funding available to institutions of higher learning that offer certain workforce training programs and STEM instruction. I would like to see Collin College aggressively pursue those funds by expanding offerings in those areas.
