Pratt, Kansas: The 30th Judicial District of Kansas is gaining a judge: Francis E. Meisenheimer. Meisenheimer was appointed by Gov. Brownback on Feb. 29, 2012. He will replace retired Judge Robert J. Schmisseur and is expected to take office in April. In the press release, the Governor stated, "Judge Meisenheimer has demonstrated his commitment to his community and to the Kansas judicial process during his years of service, both public and private. He will continue to serve the people of Kansas well in this new role for years to come."[1]

Meisenheimer currently works as a Kingman Municipal Court judge, a Kingman County Counselor, and a private practice lawyer. He will resign from these positions to join the court. "I’m looking forward to this challenge in my career. I’m going to try to do the best job I can," he stated.[2]
