2014

Abdo's campaign website highlighted the following issues:[4]

Life, from the moment of conception....

  • Excerpt: "I believe all children are precious miracles at conception and will oppose any legislation which threatens or endangers these most innocent lives."

Education...

  • Excerpt: "Our children deserve to be well prepared for their future. A strong education system is critical to the future of our students and our state. We must return decision making to the local level where the parents and educators are best able to determine the unique needs of the students in that community."

Fiscal responsibility...

  • Excerpt: "We must continually look for ways to maximize efficiency and eliminate wasteful spending in our state budget. Unfunded mandates lead to ineffective outcomes and increase regulatory and administrative burdens."

Economic growth...

  • Excerpt: "Creating an environment which allows businesses to grow is the best path to job creation. Minimizing bureaucratic regulations will spur economic growth in our private sector as well as improve efficiencies in managing our core services."

Limiting government...

  • Excerpt: "Reducing the government control and influence in our lives requires constant vigilance. I support solutions which allow for local control and respect our individual freedoms."
