Born in Central Falls. Raised in Pawtucket. I now resides in Cranston with my husband Matt and our two boys. I attended St. Raphael Academy and Villanova University. I built my corporate communications career at two Rhode Island companies, the Capital Grille restaurants and Swarovski, and transformed that experience into being a voice for gun safety. I'm the daughter of a retired Pawtucket public school teacher and granddaughter of a Teamster. It is my work as a gun safety advocate that inspired me to run for office. It opened my eyes to the importance of being involved in the political process and to have passionate and empathetic people like me at the table – hardworking women who juggle multiple caregiving jobs as mothers, daughters, employees, volunteers - and more - who want to make everyone’s lives better."
  • Expand access to child care and quality healthcare.
  • Prioritize gun violence prevention legislation.
  • Ease burdens placed on small businesses.
Caring and provide for older Rhode Islanders.
Shannon Watts, Hillary Clinton, Kamala Harris, women who get off the sidelines to make a dirrence and make people s lives better.
Hard working, persistent, good communicator, consensus builder,.
To represent the concerns and aspiration of the residents I serve. To prioritize the physical and financial safety of our community.
My first job was in a restaurant (Newport Creamery) and the lessons I learned there serve me well today (pun intended!) The industry afforded me the opportunity to help support myself financially while teaching me about the world – not everyone looks like me and thinks like me, but we all are human beings who are capable of working together to bring joy to people through hospitality.

I was a proud and nervous high schooler when I was hired at the Creamery – my first real job! I was not crazy about the green polyester dress and hairnet, but my first paycheck, my own tips and saving for college made it all worthwhile. I remember thinking I would never be able to learn how to make everything – how many shots of syrup?, how much milk and why do I need to use the metal measuring cup?, how many scoops of ice cream? I still remember these recipes today thanks to my studious teen self. I learned to be prepared, on time (I was punching a time clock) and polite. I even started to develop a thicker skin and become a creative problem solver - that time my hand slipped on a bottle of vinegar and poured over the lining of a woman’s expensive coat helped start the process.
Housing availability and affordability. Reducing healthcare and childcare costs and expanding access to coverage.
Having built relationships in the state house and community and having worked to successfully pass gun safety legislation has prepared me to effectively champion the needs of our district.
Yes. Listening, learning and collaborating with fellow legislators allows us to write powerful and effective legislation.
