I am a mom, grandmother, small business owner and an advocate for small businesses and working families I was born in a military hospital in Alabama, and raised by an artist and a psychologist in Charleston West Virginia . I came to Fayetteville to spend a Summer working for a rafting company , and I fell in love.. i fell in love with a man, the river, the mountains and the community. My husband and I raised our children while caring for hundreds of our communty children for nearly 30 years in our child care and education center. Throughout that time I have experienced raising babies in the first chapter of life. I have experienced caring for and comforting our grandparents and parents in the last chapter. We are now watching the challenges our children and the community children face raising their own babies. The challenges are similar, yet have discouraging differences. The systems of support for working families have disappeared. The divide between those who have and those who have not, has widened. Hard working families are falling into the deep divide. I believe WV can do better. I believe West Virginia must do better. We have so much beauty in our rivers, mountains and people. I hope my children, and all of our community's children will be able to raise healthy and happy families in our rural communities. As a Delegate, I will work hard to make our communities the best place to raise babies and to care for our beloved seniors for generations to come..
  • A Voice For Familes because we can do better. WV can care.
  • West Virgina is full of natural beauty and opportunity. Our people are strong and resilient. Our community is amazing. When we care for each other, we overcome and soar above the challenges. Our elected policy makers should always focus on policies that support, strengthen and respect families and their communities. When we have strong families and communities, we will have strong businesses, ample tourism and prosperity.
  • We must improve the mental health and physical health support system for seniors and their caregivers.
Access and affordabilty of high quality childcare for working families

Access and affordabilty of high quality, dignified, senior care and support services.

Equitable AND respectable wages for those who care for those we love.
Specifically in a citozen legislature, it is necessary to have empathy and compassion. Working to build a thorough understanding of all of the constituents experiences and perspectives and considering the outcomes for all.
Collaboration and cooperation to get legislation passed that supports working families and improves the lives and futures of children in West Virginia.
Susie's Hamburgers, South Charleston, WV 1 year age 15-16
I believe the legislature and governor should collaborate to achieve the governor's initiatives while supporting the unique community needs and circumstances.
Health and Prosperity due to an aging population and a lack of supports for young familes. We are likely to have more people visiting to enjoy the beauty and adventure with less people living in and supporting our rural communites
No. The design of a citizen legislature is to have average citizens, representing their community.
Yes. Legislators must work together to find common ground. Progress can not happen without collaboration, empathy, and team work.
A young mom recently spoke to a community gathering explaining her family's situation. She explained that her and her husband moved to Fayette Oounty because of the natural beauty and friendly people. She detailed their experiences with childcare and the expenses. Her recent fear is the possibility that they will lose access to a high quality childcare program for their son. This would clearly result is one parent not being able to work. Which would mean they could not afford their mortgage. She concluded they would have to leave WV and move where they could find childcare. Her final declaration that living in West Virginia is like being in an abusive relationship,. She loves West Virginia but West Virginia doesn't care. She keeps waiting for West Virginia to care.

I believe that all public funds must be 100% accounted for and transparent to all citizens. All actions, or inactions of government officials during a public term of office should be held to the highest standard and follow all laws and ethical expectations of the average citizen.
