Hi, there! I’m Melissa Meltzer, and I’m running for State Representative for District#54, which includes most of Henry and Rush County, Hanover township of Shelby County, and Blue River township of Eastern Hancock County. I am running, because I am TIRED of getting the bait and switch with candidates; where they say they are for or against certain issues, then they get in office and DON’T follow through with what they said.

I want to be transparent about my views, and I expect people to hold me accountable.

BACKGROUND

I own a small private practice where I do Christian-based mental health counseling. I have been on several different Boards of Directors, as well as served as an officer for a local ministerial association for many years. I actively participated in multiple school board meetings, when my children were still in school. I volunteered for many years at a local pregnancy care center, and actively volunteer with my church in lots of different roles, including as one of only 2 women on the church security team. I’m also a Precinct Committeeman.

WHAT MAKES ME STAND OUT

I am a warrior with a servant’s heart, and I am PASSIONATE about faith, family, and freedom.

My TOP issues are Christian values, medical freedom, and our Constitution, which includes Constitutional Carry. Now that Constitutional Carry has passed, I will focus on getting rid of red flag laws. Thank you & God Bless!!
  • I am transparent and honest. What you see is what you get. My faith in Christ is foundational to everything that I say and do.
  • I feel very STRONGLY that, in no way, shape, or form, should the goverment ever make medical decisions for ANYONE. We have been given the freedom to make those decisions for ourselves. If you want a vaccine, then get a vaccine. If you don't want one, then don't get one. We should not be forced to get a vaccine to be allowed to attend a concert, eat at a restaurant, take a cruise, or go anywhere else.
  • The Constitution is the foundation and standard for a limited and defined government. It is black and white, and it has been trampled for many years. Government overreach is out of control. Taxes and spending are completely out of control.
I am passionate about completely eliminating abortion in our state. I am also passionate about Constitutional carry, which was just passed, so I will now be focusing on eliminating our red flag laws, which run on the premise that anyone can make a complaint about you, and you are guilty until proven innocent. I am also passionate about our freedoms, specifically, and especially right now, our medical freedom.

I feel that our election process needs MAJOR changes, as I have seen the data that confirms that it has been compromised in every county in our state. We need to throw out the voting machines and return to paper ballots.

These are just a few of the areas that I am passionate about!
My first job was working on a hog farm. I grew up out in the country, so it was difficult to figure out how to make money to save up for my first car. The bus would drop me off at the farm, after school, then the farmer would drive me home a couple of miles every evening. I worked in the farrowing house and nursery. I worked there for around 6-8 months.
