Melissa S. Barnhart is a judge of the Twenty-Third Circuit Court in Illinois. She serves as the Kendall County Resident Judge. She was elected to this position on November 6, 2012 for a term that expires in December of 2018.[1]

Barnhart received her B.A. degree from Illinois State University in 1982 and her J.D. from the John Marshall Law School in 1986.[2]

Barnhart was elected without opposition to the newly-created 23rd Circuit Court on Nov. 6, 2012. She defeated David S. Kim in the Republican primary on March 20, 2012, receiving 73.47% of the vote.[1][4][5]
