Melvin Burgess (Democratic Party) is the Shelby County Assessor of Property in Tennessee. He assumed office in 2018. His current term ends on September 1, 2026.
Burgess (Democratic Party) ran for re-election for Shelby County Assessor of Property in Tennessee. He won in the general election on August 4, 2022.
Burgess was the District 7 representative on the Shelby County Board of Commissioners in Shelby County from 2010 to 2018. First elected to the Position 3 seat in District 2 in 2010, he won re-election in the newly created District 7 on August 7, 2014. Burgess was ineligible to run for re-election in 2018 because of term limits.[1][2]
