As a proud candidate for Metro Council, I am deeply committed to serving our community and addressing the needs that matter most to Louisville families. I believe that regardless of where we live in the city, we all share common aspirations: safe neighborhoods, reliable services, and a united, thriving community.

Service has always been at the heart of who I am. Through my work with organizations like Seven Counties Services, the Blue Apple Players, and as Justice of the Peace, I have dedicated myself to helping people of all backgrounds. I’ve been fortunate to collaborate with a wide range of partners, from the Louisville Metro Police Department to the Office for Safe and Healthy Neighborhoods to Community Coordinated Child Care, working together to create meaningful solutions that improve lives.

I am proud to be the third generation in my family to live in the area surrounding District 18. I grew up near Des Pres Park and now live in Lyndon with my husband, Kartik, and our playful son, Henlee.

My campaign is grounded in faith and a commitment to coalition-building. I am ready to bring my passion, experience, and fresh perspective to be a dynamic advocate for District 18 and all its residents.
  • I believe that public service demands full-time dedication. When you step into this role, serving the city must be your sole focus. The East End needs a Metro Councilmember who is fully committed to addressing the challenges facing our neighborhoods, schools, and businesses every day. Louisville doesn't have part-time problems, and it deserves a leader who is present, engaged, and ready to tackle the issues head-on.
  • Louisville is a great city with great people, but the rise of random gun violence threatens our future. Our police are under-staffed and overworked, and it's become so dangerous that many avoid going downtown. In her 12 years on the Metro Council, my opponent has done nothing to make our families safer. The Council is failing us. I will work full-time to address gun violence, making our neighborhoods and streets safer for everyone.
  • Education is a core value, and our city needs the infrastructure to reflect its importance. As a consensus-builder, I will work to create the council's first Education Committee to improve our schools, expand trade school opportunities, and oversee the rollout of universal pre-K. I’ll always be a strong advocate for solutions that strengthen our schools and support our families.

The Metro Council serves at the most local level, acting as the crucial link between residents and the larger government infrastructure. It provides accessibility and relatability, ensuring that community members have an advocate who stands with them when problems arise.
An elected official must show dignity to everyone they work with, think critically to identify the right issues to address, have the imagination to explore alternative approaches, and possess the fortitude to put in the hard work necessary to get real results.
I possess strong dedication to public service, critical thinking skills to address complex issues, and a collaborative spirit to build coalitions. My commitment to transparency and accessibility ensures that I remain relatable to the community. Additionally, my ability to imagine innovative solutions, combined with the fortitude to follow through, will help me effectively advocate for the needs of District 18.
The core responsibility of any elected official is to put aside self-interest and work tirelessly every day to improve the lives of others.

Financial transparency is essential for building trust with the community. It fosters accountability, strengthens coalitions, and inspires civic pride among residents.

I have been a resident of District 18 for twenty-six years of my life. For the last 10 years I have been working in community outreach and education. This has given me the unique opportunity to work throughout the city of Louisville, including visiting every elementary school within JCPS. During these experiences, what stood out to me was that when I was in an area that had an active and engaged Metro Council Member, that would be reflected in the people that they served. I am running to bring the same level of attention and dedication that I so greatly admire to District 18. I will do the hard work to help this area thrive because community matters.
  • Engaging and Growing Our Community
  • Developing Infrastructure for a Sustainable Future
  • Providing Creative Solutions to Our Community's Pressing Needs
My top priority will be infrastructure. It is important that our systems ensure the safety and livelihood of everyone. One example is improving accessibility at intersections for folks living with disabilities. But infrastructure applies to more than roads, bridges, safe lighting and the like. Cities are beginning to recognize the importance of sound social infrastructure. Examples include programming offered through libraries, schools, parks, and the arts. Societies with strong social infrastructure prove to be healthier and happier.
