[1]
This measure asked residents again for approval of a bond set at an amount of $2.8 million which would go towards facility upgrades and improvements at the Aledo branch. Proponents of the measure noted that no improvemnets have been made to the building since it was built in 1916 except replacing the roof. There was the need to make it accessible for handicapped patrons as well as expand and add more rooms. If it had been approved around $.34 per $100 of assessed property value would have been added to the local property tax rate to pay for the bond.[2]
