An election to recall Mayor Merritt Paddock was held on July 10, 1934, in Long Beach, California. Paddock was removed from his position as a result of the recall vote.[1]
Recall supporters
Long Beach Post reported that grounds for recalling Paddock included the city council declining to prosecute oil companies for nonpayment of royalties, incompetence, mismanagement, misuse of public funds, carelessness and disregard for the rights of the citizens of Long Beach, failure to adhere to the city charter, inefficiency, and extravagance.[1]
