A Miami-Dade Animal Services Property Tax Increase Advisory question is on the November 6, 2012 election ballot in Miami-Dade County, which is in Florida, where it was approved.

This question advised the County Commission to increase county wide property taxes by 0.1079 mills ($0.1079 per $1,000 of assessed valuation in order to fund improved animal services. If defeated, this question would advise the County Commission to not impose such a tax increase. This is a non-binding vote and no action would result directly from this question.[1]

Aftermath

In 2013 the Miami-Dade board of commissioners voted 8-5 against the tax increase. This resulted in a recall attempt of commissioner Lynda Bell.[2]
