Micah Beckwith is a devoted husband, proud father, pastor, and small business owner. He and his wife, Susan, and their 2 children have been serving Hamilton County and surrounding areas for over 15 years. He is a graduate of Huntington University with a degree in business and economics. Currently, Micah teaches a high-school constitutional literacy class for a Christian school in Carmel. He also co-hosts the popular podcast “Jesus, Sex and Politics” with Pastor Nathan Peternel. Micah is an inspirational speaker and has served as the keynote speaker for several not-for-profit and community groups and over the past year has toured the state as an advocate for healthcare freedom. • Stop radicalization in the schools and empower parents
  • Preserve our constitutional rights
  • Revive economic prosperity
As a father of two young children and a teacher of history, Micah Beckwith deeply cares about the next generation. Like you, he is appalled at the radicalization happening in our schools that only further divides us as a community. As our next Lt. Governor, Micah will make it a priority to get politics and the woke agenda out of our classrooms. He supports parental rights and stopping the teaching of Critical Race Theory and the transgender agenda. Micah believes that our children should receive a quality education that prepares them to compete in the new global marketplace.
Integrity, honesty, and work ethic top my list. Moreover, I need every elected official must be a Constitutionalist. They need to know the God’s truth and be a servant leader who puts people first.
President Ronald Reagan. He was a tremendous leader who got us out of the terrible recession and

restored prosperity to our nation. His peace through strength policy led to the collapse of the Soviet
Union and the return of our hostages. As the next Lt. Governor, I will embrace his positive leadership

that restored the American dream.
Two of my favorite movies are Braveheart and the Patriot. I am also an admirer of the Reagan Diaries for literature.
I am a servant leader who puts people first. I am a constitutionalist, hard working, and honest. As a history teacher, I know the great history of this nation so we are not doomed to make the same mistakes. I am a father of 2 young children, so education is a top priority for me.
As Lt. Governor, I made a positive difference in defending our liberty, restoring people’s faith in our system of government, and made Indiana a better place to raise our children.
The election of George H. Bush to the White House is one of my first historical memories. I was 6 years
old at the time.
At the age of 16, I worked at a driving range mowing lawns and rake up golf balls. It was a fun high
school job that I held for 2 years.
I have been blessed with a wonderful family. I work every day to make a positive difference in people’s lives and I don’t focus on the negative. However, having spoken out of several issues, I became the target of the cancel culture which has reinforced my strong beliefs in our constitution and bill of rights.
I believe that an elected official should have their core convictions in place – not put their finger into the wind to decided what direction to go. As a candidate, he or she owes it to the voters to tell voters where they stand on the issues and their core beliefs.

Campaign website

Beckwith’s campaign website linked to his running mate’s campaign themes, which stated the following:

Freedom and Opportunity Agenda Public Safety Plan

Hoosier families and communities deserve to know that their safety and security are the top priority of state government and law enforcement deserves a government that supports the critical work they do every day. Unchecked illegal immigration has contributed to the flow of drugs, including methamphetamine and fentanyl, into our communities and schools. Unprosecuted crime and lack of support for our law enforcement in major areas impacted morale and retention of veteran officers.

Mike Braun’s plan to ensure Hoosier’s safety includes; confronting the drug crisis, enforcing our laws, tackling illegal immigration, supporting our police, treating mental health with seriousness, and prioritizing school safety.

“Every Hoosier deserves to feel safe in their community, and to achieve that we need to support our police with the training and resources they need, confront the drug crisis head on, enforce the law so criminals don’t end up back on the street due to prosecutors refusing to do their jobs, tackle illegal immigration bringing fentanyl and crime to our streets like the attack we saw on a young girl in northwest Indiana, and take action to give our schools what they need to keep kids safe.”

– Mike Braun

Mike Braun’s agenda proposes the following solutions to keep Hoosier communities safe and support our law enforcement professionals.

1. Confront the Drug Crisis: Prioritize a collaborative drug interdiction approach that fully utilizes the expertise and resources of the Indiana State Police and local law enforcement and prosecutors.
2. Enforce our Laws: Ensure Indiana’s criminal justice system supports the work of our law enforcement efforts and hold accountable those attempting to weaken the system by choosing not to enforce certain laws or allowing dangerous criminals to walk the streets.
3. Tackle illegal immigration: Provide the support necessary to communities struggling with illegal immigration by ensuring Indiana has no sanctuary policies and stand ready to assist if and when the federal government seeks assistance in safeguarding Hoosiers.
4. Support our Police: Champion policies that enhance training, benefits, and salaries to improve morale, retention, and recruitment of law enforcement officers across the state.
5. Treat Mental Health with Seriousness: Invest in local treatment facilities so that those in mental crisis receive the care they need without placing an added burden on law enforcement and the criminal justice system.
6. Prioritize school safety: Establish the Office of School Safety to streamline resources that are spread across many agencies and ensure that every school is able to protect our children.[3]

Micah Beckwith earned his B.S. in Business (with an emphasis in Management and Economics and Finance) from Huntington College in 2005. Beckwith has owned and operated small businesses since 2005. He has lived in the district for over a decade.
  • I will fight for the constitution and stand for constitutional values.
  • I will defend the right to life and every American's right to religious freedom.
  • I will fight to defend our nation's borders, and to make our community a pro-business district-always working to cut taxes, cut regulations and spend taxpayer dollars wisely.
Foreign policy and the continued stand of the United States as the world's leader in freedom, opportunity and commerce.

Economic policy that promotes small business and entrepreneurship by the promotion of tax cuts and deregulation of job killing red tape.

Healthcare policy that cuts costs for families and opens up the free market and competition that will drive down costs and increase quality of care.

Religious liberty for all Americans to worship how they see fit and to protect our "freedom OF religion" in the public square, not the "freedom FROM religion" in the public square.
Ronald Reagan. He was a bold voice for liberty across the world.
Honesty, integrity and a true understanding of servant-leadership. Also, a deep understanding of our nation's history and our Constitution.
I will fight for my community and put their needs first. I see people where they are, will listen to their needs and strive to be a champion they can be proud of.
To be accessible and engaged in the district that the congressperson represents. Making as much time for the people of the district as possible to hear their concerns and desires for our government and then heading out to Washington to represent those values.
I would like to leave a legacy where people will say that I truly cared more for my community members and their families than any other politician they have seen in office.
C.S. Lewis' "Chronicles of Narnia" because it is a brilliant metaphor of our purpose and calling as children of God.
Wrestling with God's direction in my life and learning when to listen and when to speak.
Two years is absolutely the right term length. It keeps the representatives tied to the people of the district. If terms were longer, I worry we would never see our representatives until it was an election year.
I absolutely agree with term limits. I have already signed the "US Term Limit Pledge" committing to backing legislation that enacts term limits for members of Congress.

Nomination as lieutenant governor (2024)

See also: Indiana gubernatorial and lieutenant gubernatorial election, 2024

At the June 15, 2024, Indiana Republican convention, Micah Beckwith (R) won the nomination for Lieutenant Governor of Indiana, defeating State Rep. Julie McGuire (R) with 891 delegate votes to McGuire's 828.[5] According to Politico's Adam Wren, Beckwith: “...ran as an 'insurance policy' for conservatives — promising to be a 'check' on their own party’s leader after grassroots Republicans fumed at term-limited incumbent Gov. Eric Holcomb’s pandemic restrictions in 2020.”[6]

Gubernatorial nominee Sen. Mike Braun (R) and former President Donald Trump (R) endorsed McGuire.[7] Braun endorsed McGuire, saying: “Julie McGuire is a strong conservative who has lived the values of faith, family, and community. Like me, Julie didn’t come from the farm system of politics – her experience comes from the real world serving her neighbors, raising a family, and getting things done on issues like child services and health freedom.”[8]

Past state conventions traditionally saw the gubernatorial nominee's preferred pick win the nomination.[9] Isabella Volmert of the Associated Press said: “Delegates sometimes buck their leaders’ choices. In 2022, they defied Republican Gov. Eric Holcomb’s backing of the incumbent secretary of state for a second term and instead elected Diego Morales, who went on to win the general election.”[10] Leslie Bonilla Muñiz of the Indiana Capital Chronicle said: “Delegates have traditionally leaned more conservative – and more anti-establishment – than Republican general election and even primary election voters.“[5]

Beckwith said of his win: “It’s not a rebuke on Donald Trump or a rebuke on Mike Braun in any capacity,... It’s more just saying, the people want their voices represented anywhere they can be represented. Part of that representation comes at the lieutenant governor’s office.”[11]

At the convention, Braun told Beckwith: “...even though I chose someone else to be my partner, you and I have known one another. Everything you believe in, I have as well. I'm a guy that knows how to get from here to there. I'll handle it well, even when it doesn't go your way. And we will take Indiana to that next level because everything you're interested in that you've been disappointed with recently, that's gonna change.“[9] McGuire said in a Facebook post: “I am honored to have had the opportunity to travel this state hearing from Hoosiers about the issues that matter to them. I congratulate Micah Beckwith on his nomination and I look forward to supporting him, Mike Braun, and the whole Republican team this fall!“[12]

Indiana Democratic Party Chairman Mike Scmuhl (D) criticized Beckwith's nomination: “Gubernatorial candidates selected by the people should be allowed to select their potential governing partners, and Micah Beckwith’s win shows how out-of-the-mainstream extremism has hijacked the current Indiana GOP.“[13]
