Michael Gonzales is a judge on the Twelfth Judicial District Court in Colorado. He was appointed by Governor John Hickenlooper in September 2011 and was retained by voters in 2014.[1]  His six-year term was set to expire on January 11, 2021.[2]

Gonzales was retained to the Twelfth Judicial District with 72.0 percent of the vote on November 4, 2014. [3]

The Colorado Commissions on Judicial Performance recommended that Judge Gonzalez be Retained. The full report is available here.

2010

Judge Gonzales was retained to the Alamosa County Court in 2010 with 72.6% of the vote.[4]

Education

Gonzales received his undergraduate degree from Creighton University and his J.D. from the University of Colorado.[1]

Career

From 2007 until his judicial appointment in 2011, Gonzales was a judge on the Alamosa County Court. He also spent six years as chief deputy district attorney for the Twelfth Judicial District.[1]
