Michael A. Hanzman was a judge of the Florida 11th Circuit Court. He left office on March 31, 2023.

Hanzman won re-election for judge of the Florida 11th Circuit Court outright after the general election on November 6, 2018, was canceled.

Hanzman was appointed by Governor Rick Scott on May 23, 2011 to replace the late Judge Maynard A. Gross. Hanzman was officially sworn in on December 16, 2011. He was elected in 2012.[1][2][3]

Education

Hanzman received his bachelor's degree from the University of South Florida and his J.D. degree from the University of Florida College of Law.[1]

Career

Hanzman began his career in 1985, working with the law firm of Floyd, Pearson, Richman, Greer, Weil. He then practiced with Zack, Hanzman, Ponce, Tucker, Korge and Gillespie from 1990 to 1994, with Hanzman and Criden from 1994 to 2007, and was of counsel with Ackerman, Link and Sartory from 2008 until he was appointed to the circuit court in 2011.[1]

The general election was canceled. Michael A. Hanzman (Nonpartisan) won without appearing on the ballot.

2012

Hanzman was unopposed and automatically re-elected following the primary election on August 14, 2012.[4]
