Michael Albert
Michael Albert was the chairman of the West Virginia Public Service Commission from 2007 to 2019. He was first appointed to the position in February 2007 to serve the remainder of an unexpired term that ended June 30, 2007. He was re-appointed to full six-year terms in 2007 and 2013.[1] Albert resigned from the position on June 30, 2019.[2]
Biography
After graduating with a B.S.B.A. in accounting from West Virginia University, Albert was commissioned as an officer in the U.S. Navy. He served a tour of duty in Vietnam and received an Honorable discharge. He returned to WVU and earned a law degree and later worked in the Business Law department of Jackson Kelly, PLLC, focusing on "public utilities and business and commercial transactions."[1]

Political career
West Virginia Public Service Commission (2007 - 2019)
Albert served on the commission from February 2007 to June 2019. He was first appointed by Gov. Joe Manchin for a partial term and appointed to a full term that began July 1, 2007. He was re-appointed for a full six-year term by Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin on May 20, 2013.[3] Albert resigned from the position on June 30, 2019.[2]
