Campaign website
Barton's campaign website stated the following:
“ |
Put Parents In Charge My biggest priority for Texas Schools is clear: Put parents back in the driver’s seat. I will require the TEA, Board of Education, and local school boards to have maximum transparency. Sunlight is the best disinfectant and is the best way to constantly ensure our schools are on the right track. Parents should be able to choose what is best for their children, many of whom may not benefit from conscription into a giant, one-size-fits-all system. Keep Critical Race Theory Out Of Our Schools Texas may have banned the bigoted Critical Race Theory, but without a doubt, CRT’s proponents will seek every way possible to have its principles creep back into our classrooms and libraries. If elected, I will keep a very close eye on any attempts to violate the letter and spirit of this law. Support Our Teachers We must increase teacher compensation by making sure more of our money goes into classrooms. Our kids don’t learn anything in the school administration offices. Let our kids reap the benefit of the billions of dollars schools take.[3] |
